Media Converter
Trim and convert audio and video, or make a GIF — entirely in your browser.
The ffmpeg engine is fetched from a CDN the first time you run an operation (about 30 MB, then cached by your browser). Your file is decoded in a sandbox inside this tab and is never uploaded.
Drop a video or audio file, or click to choose
MP4, WebM, MOV, MP3, WAV, OGG and more. Processing happens on your device.
What Media Converter does
- Convert video (mp4, webm, gif) and audio (mp3, wav, ogg, m4a)
- Trim by start/end time, and cancel a running job
- Resize (even dimensions) and change playback speed
- Mute, or set the volume, and extract the audio track
- Extract frames as a ZIP
- Video → GIF with fps, width, loop and dither options
- Quality (CRF) presets, output-vs-input size and a preview

Common questions
- Is my media file uploaded?
- No. The file is processed by ffmpeg running inside your browser. Only the ffmpeg engine itself is downloaded once; your media never leaves your device.
- What can I convert or change?
- Convert video (mp4, webm, gif) and audio (mp3, wav, ogg, m4a); trim by start/end time; resize and change speed; mute or set volume; extract the audio; pull frames as a ZIP; and turn a video into a GIF.
- Is there a limit or a queue?
- Large files take time because the work is local. There is a cancel button and honest progress, plus quality (CRF) presets and a before/after size comparison.
