What Metadata Tools does

  • Inspect metadata in JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and TIFF
  • Deep scan: EXIF, XMP, IPTC, ICC and a raw byte scan
  • Edit, remove or export the found values as CSV
  • Thumbnail preview plus GPS location with a map link
  • Edit or strip MP3 (ID3), FLAC and WAV tags
  • Clean PDF info and Office document properties
  • Remove iTunes/QuickTime tags from MP4 & MOV
  • Clearly flags formats it can't rewrite safely

Common questions

What kinds of metadata can it find?
It inspects EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC and ICC in images; ID3 tags in MP3; FLAC and WAV tags; MP4/QuickTime tags; PDF info and XMP; and Office/ODF document properties — then does a raw byte scan on top.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files are read and rewritten entirely in your browser. Nothing is ever uploaded.
What happens if a format can't be rewritten safely?
The tool says so and leaves the file untouched rather than risking corruption. It reports the format as read-only instead of guessing.
